Trailer of 'Ae Watan Mere Watan' on Quit India movement out


The trailer for the upcoming patriotic-thriller film “Ae Watan Mere Watan,” which depicts India during the 1942 Quit India Movement and its struggle for independence, was released on Monday.

In the film directed by Kannan Iyer, Sara Ali Khan plays 22-year-old Usha, a Bombay college student who battles the East India Company using an underground radio station.

Mahatama Gandhi introduced the Quit India Movement during the All-India Congress Committee meeting in Bombay on August 8, 1942.

The film also has stars like Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Srivastava, Alexx’O’Neil, and Anand Tiwari, while Emran Hashmi will be seen in a guest appearance.

Under the banner of Dharma Entertainment Production, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra produced this film, which is written by Kannan and Darab Farooqui.

With the supernatural thriller “Ek Thi Dayan,” starring Emran Hashmi, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Huma Qureshi, actor and filmmaker Iyer made his directorial debut.

His next project is the 2020 novel “Lallan Sweets,” produced by Karan Johar and starring the actor from “Kedarnath.”
