Thugs of Hindostan, the much awaited epic war drama which launched its trailer on Thursday, has been enthralling fans with snippets of the characters from the film.
Ever since the first look from the film was out, there were many speculations that the film was based on Philip Meadows Taylor’s 1839 novel “Confessions of a Thug”.
However, putting all speculations to rest, the film’s director Vijay Krishna Acharya has confirmed that the film is not based on any novel or book for that matter.
While interacting with the media at the trailer launch of the film, Acharya said, “The film is not based on any book. I think it is because of the common word ‘thug’ that people thought the film is based on the book that was written a long time ago. But there is no connection between the two.”
He was present with the cast of the film including Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, and Fatima Sana Sheikh.
Helmed by Yash Raj Films, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ is considered to be one of the costliest productions with a budget of over Rs 300 crore.
