The Lion King crosses Rs 150 cr benchmark in fourth week at box office

The Lion King has broken box office records in the country and continues to do well despite multiple film releases.

The film crossed the Rs 150 crore benchmark in its 4th week. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film’s business on social media.

In its first week, the film collected Rs. 81.57 cr, second week Rs. 45.75 cr, 3rd week Rs.16.64 cr, and 4th weekend Rs. 6.13. In the first three days alone, The Lion King earned Rs 50 cr, on Day 10, it reached the Rs 100 cr, on Day 14- Rs 125 cr, and Day 24- Rs 150 cr.

The Lion King is also the second highest Hollywood grosser of the year after Avengers: Endgame. Endgame crossed Rs 400 cr, with a record of Rs 50 cr every week since release.

The Lion King grossed over $1.3 billion across the world, making it the highest grossing animated film of all time.

The Lion King has been classified as an animated film because of its state-of-the-art photorealistic technology. Jon Favreau’s previous film, The Jungle Book managed to gross $1 billion worldwide.
