Super 30 is having a dream run at the box office. With just a week short of completing 1 month at the theatres, this Hrithik Roshan starrer is making and breaking new records as far as the business is concerned.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film’s business on social media.
Super 30 opened on 12 July 2019 across cinema screens in the country. In its first week, it earned Rs. 75.85 cr, second week Rs. 37.86, third week Rs. 17.94 and in its fourth weekend, Rs. 6.28 crores, taking the total tally to Rs. 137.93 crores.
The film crossed Rs 50 cr benchmark within three days of its release, Rs 100 cr in 10 days and Rs 125 cr in 17 days.
According to trade analysts, Vikas Bahl’s directorial is set to emerge as the sixth highest grossing Hindi film of 2019 and challenge Gully Boy‘s lifetime business.
Super 30 has also been declared tax-free in states likes Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Bihar, UP, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, and Delhi to name a few.
Based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar from Patna, the film follows his hardships in creating a coaching program involving 30 students and teaching them for free so as to help them crack the IIT-JEE exam.
Vikas Bahl was given credits for the movie after an internal committee set up by Reliance Entertainment cleared him of charges of alleged sexual assault.
Super 30 also starrs Mrunal Thakur, Aditya Shrivastava and Pankaj Tripathi and is co-produced by Reliance Entertainment and Phantom films as the latter’s last production venture before it was dissolved owing to the charges against Bahl.
