Chiranjeevi, the veteran Telugu actor known as the “Megastar,” has added another remarkable accolade to his illustrious career by earning a Guinness World Record for being the most prolific film star in the Indian film industry.
The recognition celebrates his unparalleled contribution to cinema over more than four decades, acknowledging not only his prolific output but also his outstanding dancing abilities that have captivated audiences.
The timing of this prestigious honor holds special significance for Chiranjeevi, as it falls on the anniversary of his acting debut, which took place in 1978. Over the years, Chiranjeevi has solidified his status as a cinema icon, appearing in over 150 films and delivering countless memorable performances.

He has also become one of the finest dancers in Indian cinema, with 24,000 distinct dance moves performed in 537 songs across 156 films—a feat that has cemented his place in history.
The award ceremony, held in Hyderabad, was even more special with Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan presenting the honor to Chiranjeevi. The two legends shared a warm moment on stage, with Aamir embracing Chiranjeevi as a sign of admiration and respect.
In a heartfelt tribute, Aamir praised the actor’s legendary dancing talent, saying, “If you watch any of his songs, his heart is completely in it. He enjoys every move, and because of that, we can’t take our eyes off him. His joy is infectious, and we all feel it as we watch him.”
Aamir went on to express his admiration for Chiranjeevi’s long list of achievements. “Your journey has been filled with many milestones, and I’m certain there are more to come. We are always here to be entertained and inspired by you,” he added.
Chiranjeevi’s career has spanned over 45 years, during which he has consistently broken records and set new standards in Indian cinema. He holds the title of having the most “Industry Hits” in Telugu cinema, with eight of his films becoming the top-grossing films of their time—an achievement unmatched in the industry’s 100-year history.

In 2006, Chiranjeevi received the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, and in 2024, the Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award, recognizing his extraordinary contributions to Indian cinema and culture. He also received the IFFI Indian Film Personality of the Year Award in 2022, alongside other accolades such as the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award, three Nandi Awards, and nine Filmfare Awards South, including a Lifetime Achievement Award. His influence on Indian cinema received acknowledgement from CNN-IBN in 2013, which named him one of “the men who changed the face of Indian Cinema.”
Chiranjeevi’s rise to stardom began in 1978 when he made his acting debut. Initially, he gained attention for his powerful performances in supporting roles, often playing anti-heroes or antagonists. However, his breakthrough came in 1983 with the release of ‘Khaidi’, a film that became the highest-grossing Telugu film of its time and firmly established him as a leading actor in the industry.
