Shahid Kapoor to star in Hindi remake of ‘Arjun Reddy’?

Year 2018 is turning out to be one of the best phases of Shahid Kapoor’s life. His first film of 2018 (Padmaavat) became a blockbuster, and he is all set to welcome his second child and now he has bagged the lead role in the Hindi remake of acclaimed Telugu film, Arjun Reddy.

Shahid, who will be next seen in the social comedy film Batti Gul Meter Chalu, is all set to essay another career-defining role in 2019.

Arjun Reddy, an acclaimed Telugu film starring Vijay Deverakonda, narrates the story of a medical student, who becomes an alcoholic and gets into substance abuse after a failed relationship.

The controversial film is one of the most acclaimed Telugu  films, which garnered unanimous praise from fans and critics.

Considering Shahid’s performance in films like Haider and Udta Punjab (where he essayed the role of a drug addict) the remake of Arjun Reddy will surely impress everyone and will add another memorable chapter to Shahid’s career.

As quoted by Mumbai Mirror, sources said, “The film is scheduled to go on the floors in July and the team is looking for an actress opposite Shahid. While the locations are yet to be finalised, the film will be shot in India and Abroad. We are super excited about Shahid Kapoor taking on this character.”

After his stellar act in Padmaavat, the news of Shahid starring in the Hindi remake of the iconic Telugu film is surely a treat for all cinegoers as fans can’t help but to wait for this film to arrive at the big screen.
