Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah with Salman Khan has been permanently shelved. The film, which also had Alia Bhatt in the lead, has been indefinitely shelved due to creative differences between the actor and director.
Inshallah came after Salman and Sanjay Leela Bhansali collaborated together in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam nineteen years ago.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali made an announcement through his production house, Bhansali productions on social media which said : “Bhansali Productions has decided to not go ahead with Inshaa-Allah for now… Further announcement will be out soon… God Willing (sic).”
While speculations abound, the decision came after Salman and Sanjay together sat out and discussed the project.
In an interview to Mumbai Mirror earlier, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had admitted that he and Salman has had a few issues in the past. ” But whenever we met, even sporadically, we picked up from where we’d left off without dwelling on the past and the differences of opinion we might have had. My fondness for him is pure, and Salman, once he offers his friendship, even if you don’t meet or talk in five years, he’s there waiting for you.”
Inshallah‘s plot would have revolved around Salman playing an Orlando-based businessman with Alia as a 20-something aspiring actor from Varanasi.
On Monday, Salman had announced the release date shift of Inshallah, stating that the film will no longer release on Eid 2020.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced on social media that Eid 2020 will see Kick 2 as Salman’s gazetted release instead of the announced Inshallah.
#Kick2 to arrive in #Eid2020?… Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala – the combo has collaborated on a number of hits… Awaiting an OFFICIAL confirmation from the production house.
