Aspiring singer Hemant Brijwas has bagged the trophy of the second season of the singing reality show Rising Star 2018 on Sunday (April 15).

Hemant, who hails from a small Mathura town, was among the top four finalists and one of the fan favourites predicted to win the show ever since he charmed everyone with his melodious voice.

The young singer not only won the competition, judged by Diljit Dosanjh, Shankar Mahadevan and Monali Thakur, but also won the grand prize of Rs 20 lakh.

Netizens are left in complete awe of the singer’s win and has sent out shoutouts for his huge accomplishment and congratulated him by saying “you deserve it”.

Interestingly, not many know but this is not the first time that Hemant has performed on TV. The fan favourite has earlier featured on shows like Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar season 2 and India’s Got Talent. But the biggest surprise is yet to come.

Hemant has been a winner ever since his childhood days as he won the 2009 edition of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs. That’s quite a resume the singer is building to make his place in the land of opportunity.

Hemant won the second season of Rising Star by beating Rohanpreet Singh (2nd-runner-up) and Vishnumaya (3rd-runner-up).
