Singer Rekha Bhardwaj criticised music reality shows for selling drama in the name of music.

The veteran singer took to her official Twitter handle to share a series of posts and asked questions on the nature of such TV shows.

“I am not able to understand why there is so much drama in Music reality shows ???” her first tweet read.

She further stated that she was disappointed that instead of guiding kids to treat music as ibadat/prayer, they were being asked to compete/ask for votes, learn to look glamourous in the “name of Guru Shishya Parampara we are using their age and spoiling their innocence !!”

Commenting that “Nobody’s concerned about these talented kids future, Rekha signed off by by saying that she felt very sad and prayed that she never becomes part of such mediocre shows.

“Today i felt very sad ! And i pray Khuda na kare main kabhi is tarah ke mediocre show ki hissa banun.
Coz in the name of music its just noise and every song has to make you dance !” she wrote.

Rekha Bhardwaj usually collaborates with her partner Vishal Bhardwaj for his films and has delivered iconic numbers like Namak Ishq Ka (Omkara), Sasural Genda Phool (Delhi-6), Humari Atariya Pe (Dedh Ishqiya), Darling (7 Khoon Maaf) and Balma (Pataakha) among others.
