Telugu actor Ram Charan took to social media to share a heartfelt message, celebrating 10 years of his successful film Magadheera and thanking filmmaker SS Rajamouli for giving him a memorable film.
“Can’t believe it’s been a decade already! Still seems so recent! A big thank you to the dream team of #Magadheera, Keeravani garu, @kajalaggarwalofficial & @geethaarts for this memorable film. @ssrajamouli garu, learnt so much from you back then and continuing to do so even now. #10YearsofMagadheera,” Ram Charan posted.
Magadheera was based on the theme of reincarnation and starred Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles. The film released on 31 July 2009 across 1250 screens and collected Rs 1.5 billion worldwide and remained to be the highest-grossing Telugu film of all time for five years, until it was surpassed by Attarintiki Daredi in 2013.
Its 1000 day theatrical run also surpassed that of Chandramukhi( 2005) as the longest running South Indian film. The mega budget drama received two National Film awards apart from other accolades and catapulted the lead actors into stardom.
Ram Charan will soon return to work with Rajamouli with RRR, in which he will starr alongside Jr. NTR for the first time.
RRR will also feature Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in key roles. The film is based on the lives of two revolutionaries-Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheen in 1920’s pre-independent era.
