Hirani, known for his recent work on ‘Dunki,’ revealed that the film had garnered positive responses. It even prompted discussions about a special screening for the UK government. A source close to the team disclosed, “Given that ‘Dunki’ delves into the story of illegal immigrants opting for the Donkey route to cross borders, the UK government deems it relevant. The film addresses a critical issue and sheds light on the perilous Dunki route. It has gained significant appreciation from UK audiences, leading the government to express interest in viewing it.”

‘Dunki,’ stars Shah Rukh alongside Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhhar, and Anil Grover. It focuses on the challenges of immigration. The title is derived from the term “donkey journey,” representing the lengthy and often hazardous routes individuals take to immigrate.

Returning to the short film Rajkumar Hirani’s collaboration with the Election Commission aims to deliver a powerful message. Released on National Voters’ Day, January 25, the film centers around the theme of the Value of One Vote.
