‘Raazi’: Alia Bhatt’s patriotic ode ‘Ae Watan’ song will give you goosebumps

The first song of the Alia Bhatt-starrer Raazi has been released and it’s evoking patriotism. The song titled ‘Ae Watan’ showcases the journey of Alia Bhatt from a simple girl to a spy wife. The Raazi trailer was intriguing enough to keep us on the edge and now the song has added up to the curiosity.

Composed by Shankar Ehasaan and Loy, and sung by the soulful singer Arijit Singh, the song in sync with Sehmat’s character. Alia Bhatt recently crooned a few lines of the song with Shankar Mahadevan on a singing reality show. The makers of the film released the song on Wednesday. Here, have a look at the video.

Directed by Meghana Gulzar, Raazi is a spy thriller, based on the story of Sehmat Khan, who is married off to a Pakistani officer to gather information for the Indian intelligence.

Raazi is based on a novel written by Harinder Sikka, a former Indian Navy officer. The novel titled Calling Sehmat is based on the story of a Kashmiri woman who married a Pakistani officer during the 1971 India-Pakistan war.

Soni Razdan will essay the role of Alia Bhatt’s mother on screen and Masaan actor Vicky Kaushal will be featuring as her husband in the film. Raazi is scheduled to be released on 11 May 2018.
