A lot of Bollywood actors say no to certain films which then go on to become “career-defining” films for the actors who finally do it. Many of them have spoken about their hits and misses time and again.
Recently, the Ishaqzaade fame actor, Parineeti Chopra spoke about a film that was offered to her but she refused to do. Apparently, the actor had not refused the film but lost out the role because of some confusion.
On a chat show with Neha Dhupia, Parineeti Chopra spoke about missing the chance of playing the titular character in the cult favourite film Piku. The role finally went to Deepika Padukone. Shoojit Sircar’s directorial became an important film for Deepika and her career.
“I didn’t really turn down the film…there was a confusion. I was going to do another film at the same time and then that film also didn’t happen, so it was my loss,” BOI quoted Parineeti from the show.
The father-daughter chemistry between Deepika and Amitabh Bachchan was appreciated for its nuances and so was the real-relationship-feels between Deepika and Irrfan.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Parineeti will be seen in a Hindi remake of the British film The Girl on The Train. She will step into the shoes of Emily Blunt.
Earlier, she had also replaced Shraddha Kapoor in the Sanina Nehwal biopic titled Saina and has been intensively training for the film.
Apart from the biopic, Chopra will also be seen in Bhuj: The Pride of India in which she plays Heena Rehman, an Indian spy staying in Lahore.
The movie is based on a true incident during the 1971 Indo-Pak war and is one of India’s most fascinating war-related stories.
Besides these, she also has two other films – Jabariya Jodi with Sidharth Malhotra and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar with Arjun Kapoor.
