Parineeti Chopra has wrapped up her upcoming thriller The Girl On The Train and has begun prepping for her next film.

The Ishaqzaade actor’s next is an Amole Gupta directorial based on ace badminton player Saina Nehwal’s journey.

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Parineeti will begin shooting for the film from October 11 onwards in Mumbai.

Chopra has been practicing badminton for the last six months to make her performance as the Olympian shuttler look convincing.

She had also been taking her coach Eshan Naqvi with her to London, while she was shooting Ribhu Dasgupta’s directorial.

Eshan’s seniors have also been training Parineeti, including Shrikant Vad who was Saina’s first mentor from Mumbai, back in 1998.

Parineeti has been playing badminton every day for two hours a day with the best coaches of the country.

“I’ve put all my energies prepping for this role, something I’ve never done for the 10-12 films that I’ve worked in previously and in the process I have finally discovered the person I am and the actor. I’m really excited to start Saina. I think it will be a life-changing experience,” Parineeti said about her role, as quoted by Mumbai Mirror.

Amole Gupta was also all praise for the 30 year old actor.

He shared some details about the first day’s shoot schedule with Mirror and said, “I have netted a really good talent who has the acting prowess to play Saina In the first scene, Parineeti as Saina will be answering questions from the fraternity, including journalists, students, and sports management people.”

In 2015, Saina became the World No 1. Ever since then, Amole has been working to bring the badminton’s star’s story to screen. The film will be shot over the next four months.

The Saina biopic will release in 2020.
