The 9th edition of Jagran Film Festival will honour Pankaj Kapur with the ‘Icons of Indian Cinema’ award at its closing ceremony in Mumbai.
The actor-director will be felicitated with the prestigious award on Monday, September 30.
Pankaj, also a theatre artiste, is known for films such as ‘Chameli Ki Shaadi’, Ek Ruka Hua Faisla’, ‘ The Blue Umbrella’, ‘Halla Bol’, and ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola.’
Pankaj has received the National Award for three of his films, ‘ Raakh’, ‘Ek Doctor Ki Maut’, and ‘Maqbool’.
The festival creates a culture of cinema appreciation, connecting great content with audiences across the country.
It kick-started on June 29 from Delhi, traveling through Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Meerut, Agra, Gorakhpur, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bhopal, Indore, Ludhiana, Hissar, Raipur, Dehradun and finally concluding in Mumbai.
