Padmaavat has surpassed the first day collections of big Bollywood films like Tiger Zinda Hai, PK and Dangal, all of whom ranks among the highest grossing Bollywood films.
Padmaavat is shattering records worldwide, courtesy its strong word of mouth and stellar performances from the cast, especially Ranveer Singh as the menacing Sultan Alauddin Khilji.
According to reports, Bhansali’s epic film will witness a growth at the box office in the coming days as all the protests have come to an end and more cities granting the film a release following the Supreme Court’s order.
Padmaavat narrates the story of Rani Padmini (Deepika) and her husband Rawal Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor), and Alauddin Khilji’s (Ranveer) quest to conquer the fort of Chittorgarh and Padmini herself.
Padmaavat was released worldwide (except few states of India) on January 25.
