‘Padmaavat’ crosses Rs 275-cr mark, eyes for Rs 300-cr club

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus’, Padmaavat, magical run at box office continues as the film crosses Rs 275-crore mark in India.

Padmaavat, which was released on January 25, completed its third week in India and what a way to kickstart the fourth week by taking the total collections to Rs 275-crore in its fourth weekend.

As per Taran Adarsh’s tweet, the film earned Rs 4-crore on its fourth Sunday taking the total collection of Padmaavat to Rs 276.50-crore.

The film’s fourth Sunday collection was even better than the new releases Aiyaary and Black Panther, and even surpassed Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man collection.

Padmaavat is on a dream run after the hard fought controversial battle with the Karni Sena and has truly emerged as one of the highest grossing Hindi films in India.

Padmaavat‘s day wise collection in its fourth week in even more impressive as the film’s collection never dropped below Rs 2-crore. Take a look at the film’s three week break down;

Week 1: Rs 166.50-crore

Week 2: Rs 69.50-crore

Week 3: 31.75-crore

Weekend 4: Rs 8.75-crore

Padmaavat starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles narrates the story of Rani Padmini and her husband Rawal Ratan Singh, and Sultan Alauddin Khilji’s quest to conquer the Rajput kingdom and capture their queen.

Padmaavat was released worldwide in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D making it the first Hindi film to release in all three formats.
