Akshay Kumar-starrer film Pad Man based on menstrual hygiene is doing wonders at the Box Office. It earned Rs. 59 crore in India in the first week of its release. After playing the challenging role in Pad Man, Akshay Kumar also took an initiative to take forward the message in the movie.
The National Award-winning actor Akshay Kumar has installed a sanitary pad vending machine in Mumbai’s Central-ST Bus Depot. Akshay Kumar took to Twitter on Thursday to share a picture of him along with Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray, inaugurating the vending machine.
He captioned the image, “Placed a sanitary pad vending machine at Mumbai Central-ST Bus Depot today, hoping to place more across the state and eventually hopefully the whole country. Thank you, Aaditya Thackeray, for your support,”

Pad Man produced by Twinkle Khanna is based on the life of a social entrepreneur and activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented the low-cost sanitary napkin-making machine. Pad Man which released on February 9, also features Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles.
