Akshay Kumar’s latest film Pad Man opened to strong word of mouth but despite that the film has failed to create its magic at the box office.

Pad Man, a film based on menstruation hygiene, released on February 9, opened to a decent Day One and good opening weekend.

But ever since the film’s collections have marginally dropped, which has affected the overall business of the film.

The film is yet to cross the Rs. 75-crore mark, which it will in the following days, but the film’s grossing Rs. 100-crore in India is out of question now.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Pad Man earned Rs 1.25-crore on February 20 taking the total collections of the film to Rs 74.65-crore.

By the looks of the collections of the film, it’s quite a difficult task for the Pad Man to make its way to the elite club of Rs 100-crore.

Akshay’s popularity or the film’s critical reception is also not helping the film to fill in seats at cinema houses.

Despite all the promotional strategies and the gap between the releases of Pad Man and Padmaavat, the latter is still going strong at the box office in its fourth week, which is again affecting Akshay’s social drama.

With that being said, Pad Man will be Akshay’s first film in the last three years to not cross the Rs 100-crore mark in India. If it would have been the opposite then Pad Man would have been Akshay’s eighth consecutive Rs 100-crore film.

Directed by R Balki, Pad Man also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the lead roles and was released worldwide on February 9.
