Stepping into the digital realm with his maiden OTT venture, renowned television actor Mohsin Khan recently spilled the beans on his mixed bag of emotions regarding this new chapter in his career.
Best known for his portrayal in the popular TV serial ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,’ Khan is all set to grace the streaming platform with ‘Jab Mila Tu,’ a promising musical romantic drama directed by Lalit Mohan.
In a conversation, Khan opened up about the whirlwind of feelings enveloping him as he takes the plunge into the world of OTT. Expressing a spectrum of emotions, ranging from excitement to anxiety, nervousness, and a touch of fear, the actor acknowledged the significance of this new venture while admitting that the realization of his OTT debut is yet to fully sink in.
He affirmed, “I’m glad that I have finally made my debut in OTT, but I think I haven’t synced in this fact yet, and it will only happen once the show is out.”

However, Khan was quick to emphasize his unwavering love and respect for the television medium that catapulted him into the limelight. In a heartfelt tribute to TV, he remarked, “Television is the reason why we’re here. It’s a beautiful medium that reaches every household. I go to the smallest of the smallest villages. Our shows reach till there. The respect and love we get from them are on another level.”
Addressing the contrasting landscapes of television and OTT, Khan highlighted the unique advantages that each platform brings to the table. While acknowledging the inherent perks of OTT, such as reduced censorship and increased creative freedom, the actor maintained his reverence for television.
“Of course, OTT has perks like there is less censorship and more freedom. But here’s the thing, there are these many stories and these many characters, and there are particular ways you can portray certain characters, and that’s going to be everywhere. Be it theatre, TV, or films,” he explained, underlining the diverse storytelling avenues available across different mediums.
As Mohsin Khan prepares to embark on this new digital journey, his sentiments encapsulate a thoughtful perspective on the coexistence of television and OTT, each contributing its unique charm to the vibrant tapestry of entertainment.
