Indian filmmaker Nandita Das is all set to release her forthcoming film, Manto, based on the life of late Urdu writer Saadat Hassan Manto. According to recent reports of leading daily DNA, Manto’s daughter Nuzhat Arshad spoke to the portal. However, the author’s grandson has trashed the news and called out the publication in his tweets.
Nuzhat’s son Muhammad Farooq took to Twitter and quashed the reports and demanded the removal of the news story. “False news, no comments have been given by my mother to @dna as alleged by the article. If you want to confirm from me,” Farooq wrote.

It’s a lie, no statement wasn’t given by my mother. Attribution of comments by a team member of Manto doesn’t constitute a statement by Nuzhat Manto. Confirm the veracity of the comments.
