Mamangam has been mounted on a huge scale and the filmmakers have sent a fortune constructing massive sets to shoot the period drama. The film is set in the 17th century in the backdrop of Mamangam, an ancient festival. The Malayalam film will be dubbed in Hindi along with Tamil and Telugu.
Mamangam will showcase Mammootty as a mysterious character, in a never seen before avatar. The makers promise that the period film will portray a distinct tale and also showcase Kalari, an Indian martial art, unlike anything seen on screen before, reported IANS.
Meanwhile, film critic and trade analyst also took to his official Twitter handle to share the new release date and the poster of the film. Alongside the poster, he wrote, “Release date finalized… #Mamangam – starring Mammootty – to release on 12 Dec 2019… Directed by M Padmakumar… Produced by Venu Kunnappilly… In #Hindi, #Malayalam, #Tamil and #Telugu (sic).”
