Malayalam actress and TV anchor Subi Suresh passes away

Noted Malayalam actress, comedian  and TV show host Subi Suresh passed away on Wednesday. She was 41.

She was admitted to Rajagiri Hospital, Aluva, on 28  January  for acute liver failure, and she breathed her last on Wednesday morning. Subi, a known face in the Malayalam entertainment industry  has been suffering from  liver issues  for the past many years and in some previous interviews blamed her unhealthy lifestyle and not taking her medications properly for poor health . The End came, when Subi  was awaiting for her liver transplant surgery

Born at Tripunithura in Ernakulam, Subi  started her career as a mimicry artist under the guidance of Cochin Kala Bhavan. It is through the celebrated comedy show, Cinemala, that she received recognition from all quarters. After Cinemala, she got offers in Malayalam films.

She made her movie debut through Malayalam film  ‘Kanakasimhasanam’, directed by Rajasenan. Subi’s other films included ‘Panchavarnathatha’, ‘Drama’, ‘101 Wedding’, ‘Gruhanathan’, ‘Khiladi Raman’, ‘Lucky Jockers’, ‘Elsamma Enna Aankutty’, ‘Thaskara Lahala’, ‘Happy Husbands’, etc.

Subi has done various comedy roles in many skits on television channels and stage shows. Comedy skits have been performed in many stage shows in foreign countries as well. Subi also starred as the host of Surya TV’s Kuttipattalam, a show featuring young children.

Condoling the demise of Subi, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said  with the demise of Subi, the film industry lost a promising artist who had a bright future ahead of her.
