All Main Hoon Na fans, there is some really good news. Choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan has a very good idea for a sequel to her debut directorial feature, Main Hoon Na, which completed 15 years on 30 April 2019.
The Shah Rukh Khan starrer that drew heavy inspiration from old Hindi films’ narratives, motifs, and themes, especially from the 70s hit Sholay, has a possibility of reprisal. “I hope and pray that it is made because I have an idea for it. It all depends if Shah Rukh (Shah Rukh Khan)… he needs to be wanting to do that right now,” Khan told IANS.
She added: “I had a very good idea for part two. The film keeps coming on channels and people are still loving it.”
Main Hoon Na released in 2004, and starred Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty, Amrita Rao and Zayed Khan in key roles. The action-comedy revolved around the story of an Indian Army Major, played by Shah Rukh Khan, who revisits his step-family to tell them of his father’s death and in the process also fulfills Project Milaap with Pakistan, which was about releasing civilian captives on either sides of the border to strengthen ties between the two nations.
As of now, Farah Khan is making her debut in the digital space with Mrs Serial Killer, which she will be producing. The project will be directed by her director husband Shirish Kunder and stars Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead.
