Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit Nene is all set to make her international debut with a project bankrolled by Priyanka Chopra. Both the Bollywood beauties will collaborate as actor and producer for a comedy series. PeeCee, who is currently working on various Hollywood projects of her own, will join hands with Sriram Nene and turn producer for this upcoming venture.

The plot of the series is based on a Bollywood actor who moved to the US after marriage and now lives in a suburb with her bicultural family. Does that ring any bell? Well, the story seems to be based on Madhuri Dixit’s own life after Bollywood.

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone. Celebrating with my sweethearts!

In reality, Madhuri had taken a break from showbiz when she married Sriram Nene, who was based in US back then and shifted to Denver from Mumbai to start a family. The mother of two sons returned to showbiz around five years ago, and continues to be one of the most charming beauties in the Hindi film industry.

“I was pleasantly surprised in the summer of 2016 when Sri (Rao) said he wanted to do a series inspired by my life in America,” Madhuri said in a statement.

The untitled project has been written by Sri Rao, who has earlier penned shows like General Hospital: Night Shift.

Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper will executive produce through the Mark Gordon Company (MGC). ABC Studios will co-produce with MGC.

Talking about the progress on the show, Madhuri Dixit said, “TV is a funny medium, it takes time for things to happen. The script is being developed, the rest is work in progress. Let’s see where it goes,” Mumbai Mirror quotes her.
