Karishma Tanna, the renowned actor, stole the spotlight as she graced the ramp as the showstopper for the budding designers of the Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) Launchpad segment, kicking off the much-awaited Lakme Fashion Week in collaboration with FDCI.

Dazzling in an exquisite ensemble, Karishma strutted down the runway, closing the show for the promising talent Yash Gada, whose collection, titled “Dhagedaar Denim,” paid homage to the vintage denim trends of the 1970s.

Expressing her excitement, Karishma shared, “I’m thrilled to be a part of Lakme Fashion Week and to support aspiring young designers who dream of making it big in the industry. Witnessing their passion and innovation backstage was truly inspiring.”

Emphasizing the importance of nurturing emerging talent, Karishma highlighted, “It’s crucial to uplift and empower students who are the future of fashion. I’m here to encourage them and provide them with the platform they deserve.”

Taking to Instagram, Karishma gave her followers a glimpse of her runway appearance, captioning it, “About today, 1st day 1st show @lakmefashionwk.”

The Lakme Fashion Week, in collaboration with FDCI, commenced with much fanfare and will run until March 17 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

In other news, Karishma Tanna’s stellar performance in the web series “Scoop” garnered her the Critics Best Actress (Web Series) award at the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards (DPIFF) 2024. Her portrayal of Jagruti Pathak, a journalist navigating through political turmoil, captivated audiences and earned her accolades, including the Best Lead Actress award at the Busan Film Festival 2023.

Expressing her gratitude, Karishma exclaimed, “I’m deeply honored by the recognition at the Busan Film Festival. Bringing Jagruti Pathak to life has been an incredible journey, and I’m thankful to Netflix and Hansal Sir for their belief in me.”

“Scoop,” helmed by Hansal Mehta, is a gripping narrative adapted from Jigna Vora’s book, delving into the tumultuous journey of Jagruti Pathak, who finds herself entangled in a web of intrigue and injustice.

Before her acclaimed role in “Scoop,” Karishma gained prominence with her stint in “Bigg Boss 8” and endeared herself to audiences with her portrayal of Indu in Balaji Telefilms’ “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.”
