Karan Johar has brought together the ensemble cast of Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur for his dream project Kalank.
The film went on floors on Wednesday (April 18) and David Dhawan, Karan Johar, and Sajid Nadiadwala were present on the sets.

Madhuri Dixit-Nene tweeted his happy news. Her tweet read as “Just finished my shoot with Anil Kapoor and Indra Kumar on the sets of ‘Total Dhamaal’ and was phenomenal as usual. Now arrived at the sets of ‘Kalank’ with Karan Johar for the look test. The sets are breathtaking. Can’t wait for you to see both films!”

Varun Dhawan who is collaborating with Karan Johar for the fourth time shared a photograph of the filmmaker with producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Both of them posed with the film’s clapboard. His tweet read as “It begins. ‘Kalank'”

Alia Bhatt, who ventured into Bollywood with Karan’s Student Of The Year along with Varun, posted a photograph of Karan, Nadiadwala and David Dhawan.

The film is an emotional journey and was Karan Johar’s father Yash Johar’s dream project. The film was titled Kalank and will be an epic drama set in the 1940s.
In addition, the film marks the collaboration of the three biggest production houses of Bollywood industry including Dharma Productions, Fox Star Studios, and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
Kalank will go on the floors this month and will hit the theatres next year on April 19.
