Karan Johar has made his presence felt in every industry in some way or the other — from film industry to fashion. He is also touted as the “love-guru” of Bollywood. Keeping this image in mind and celebrating his birthday, Netflix has decided to gift itself something on the producer-filmmaker’s special day.
In a post that Netflix India shared on its official social media handle, it said, “This is probably not how presents work but on the occasion of his birthday we’ve decided to gift ourselves a dating show hosted by @karanjohar. What The Love? With Karan Johar, coming to Netflix! @BBCStudiosIndia”
After Koffee With Karan, Karan Johar who is already everywhere as reality TV shows judge will now be seen hosting a dating show titled, What The Love? With Karan Johar. With BBC studios on board, the announcement will keep fans waiting not just for the Koffee show but also the new one.
Netflix has worked with Karan Johar before. His Lust Stories premiered on the platform with great reviews. His next after Lust stories is titled Ghost Stories, that will again see the four set of directors, who first worked on Bombay Talkies, followed by Lust Stories, come together. In the spine chilling set of tales, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar will present films from their backyard.
Post Netflix’s announcement on Twitter, fans have been sharing varying memes. While some are excited for the show many seem to be posting hilarious memes and messages calling out the streaming giant for wasting its resources on Karan Johar and the show.
