Reality TV star Kim Kardashian West, who is married to rapper Kanye West for four years now, revealed that the latter had been advised not to date her.
The 38-year-old makeup mogul recently appeared on a talk show, Be Woke Vote, where she said Kanye had been instructed not to be in a relationship with her because she had filmed a sex tape.
“We’ve been through a lot together. You know, I’ve known him for 15 years now. Became friends with him maybe in like 2006, 2007. Met him in like (2002 or 2003). I’ve known him forever. He’s put himself up against the world for me when everyone told him, ‘You cannot date a girl with a sex tape. You cannot date a reality show girl. This is going to ruin your career,” Kim Kardashian said on the show.

“Everyone told him that. To me, he was like, ‘Oh, you’re not going to tell me what to do. I’ll let you know that it’s going to be okay.’ And he always was that strength for me. So I’ll always love and appreciate him for always standing up for me,” she added.
Earlier, Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner, who is not a lesser celebrity herself, spoke to Fox News about her daughter’s scandalous sex tape and how she dealt with the controversy. “You know, I can’t control what other people say and obviously that was a hard thing to go through,” Kris said in the interview.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West tied the knot in 2014 and the couple now has three children — Saint West, North West, Chicago West.
