After its successful run in theatres across the country, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy is soon making its digital debut on Amazon Prime Video.

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy, a story from the slums of Mumbai’s Dharavi, revolved around the rise of desi hip-hop in India, drawing inspiration from the life stories of its pioneers, Divine and Naezy The Ba.

Gully Boy is an inspiring coming of age story of a young Murad (Ranveer Singh), and his journey in becoming a rap sensation follows the “8 Mile” story graph of a rap artist’s rise to fame etc.

Gully Boy also marks the movie debut of Amazon Prime’s very own Siddhant Chaturvedi, who first came into limelight with Prime’s original Emmy nominated cricket-based series, Inside Edge, in which he plays fast bowler Prashant Kanaujia.

Sharing his excitement on the film’s digital debut, Chaturvedi stated, “Inside Edge was the start of my journey as an actor. The success of my debut show on Amazon Prime Video gave me the opportunity to play a powerful character called MC Sher in the Gully Boy. The film releasing on this platform is both hard news because it almost feels like a homecoming for me.”

The streaming platform announced on 16 April the release of Gully Boy on its platform.
