Dabangg 3, Pati Patni Aur Woh lose business at box office

As New Year approaches, a number of big Bollywood films are releasing at the box office and aiming to collect massive revenues. Among recent releases are Dabangg 3 and Mardaani 2 as Kartik Aaryan starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh continues to churn numbers.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the films’ business on social media.

Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 3 which released last week has collected Rs 91.85 crores so far. The big production cop-drama is underperforming and is expected to recover lost territory on the Christmas holiday on Wednesday.

On Friday, the Sonakshi Sinha starrer earned Rs 24.50 cr, Saturday Rs 24.75 cr, Sunday Rs 31.90 and on Monday Rs 10.70 cr.

Dabangg 3 faces a big opponent, Good Newwz ,  in the coming week and will have to sustain business as the Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh, Kareena Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer releases on 27 December 2019.

Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “#Dabangg3 also needs to sustain *after Week 1*, since it faces a new, big opponent [#GoodNewwz], which is expected to make a dent in its screens, shows and most importantly, market share… #NewYear holidays ahead should prove advantageous.”

On the other hand, Mardaani 2 has been picking up numbers. On its second Monday since release, the film performed better than the preceding Friday and in total collected Rs 34.95 cr.

Meanwhile, Pati Patni Aur Woh which is currently in its 3rd week since release collected a total of Rs 80 crores.

Other upcoming releases include Good Newwz, Chhapaak and Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior among others.
