Bollywood’s tryst with remakes dates back to the time when SRK stepped into the shoes of Amitabh Bachchan to essay the iconic role of Don in Farhan Akhtar’s 2006 film by the same name. However, over the last decade, remakes have become more popular for songs as numerous 90s smashing hits have been remade for films.

The latest buzz is that Ranveer Singh-starrer Simmba will feature a remake version of the popular 90s song, Aankh Maare O Ladka Aankh Maare, from the film Tere Mere Sapne. Rohit Shetty’s action masala film will showcase Ranveer romancing his leading lady Sara Ali Khan in the remake of the peppy track, it is learnt.

According to a report in Bollywood Life, popular music composer Tanishk Bagchi, who also composed the popular version 2.0 for songs like Tamma Tamma, Cheez Badi Mast Hai, Hawa Hawai, Humma, and Mere Rashke Kamar, has been roped in to compose the remake of the song.

In the original version of the song, we see the kitsch 90s era of Bollywood where Arshad Warsi and Seema are romancing each other on the streets in the 1996 film.

Now, it’ll be interesting to see the modern-day adaptation of the song! Considering the fact that we have a fresh on-screen pairing and an energetic Ranveer never fails to entertain his fans.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, Simmba is scheduled to release sometime in December.
