Amitabh Bachchan and actor Rani Mukerji’s iconic film ‘Black’ recently made its debut on OTT. The digital journey of the movie kicked off on February 4 on Netflix to commemorate 19 years since the film’s release, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Interestingly, nearly two decades later, the film continues to captivate audiences.
Reflecting on the audience’s affection for ‘Black’ on OTT, Rani expressed, “It is overwhelming and hugely gratifying to see that ‘Black’ is receiving so much love from the audience even after 19 years, with its OTT release. The film holds a very special place in my filmography. The experience of working with the legendary Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and being directed by my favorite filmmaker of all time, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is something that will stay with me forever.”

She further stated, “I am glad that the film is now available on Netflix, allowing those who missed experiencing the magic of ‘Black’ in theaters 19 years ago to witness it on their screens. It is always humbling to see your work reach a wider audience.”
The film received the National Award for Best Feature Film, with Amitabh Bachchan also winning the National Award for Best Actor. It holds the record for winning the most awards (11) at the Filmfare Awards.
‘Black’ draws inspiration from the life of Helen Keller, as well as the 1962 film based on her autobiography, ‘The Miracle Worker.’ (ANI)
