Ayushmann Khurrana recently took to social media to mark the 10th anniversary of his film ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’.
The actor shared heartfelt reflections on the milestone, expressing gratitude for the film that played a pivotal role in shaping his career.
Khurrana posted a nostalgic video clip from the movie, describing the project as a perfect start to his journey in Bollywood. In his message, he acknowledged how the film transformed his life, adding that he couldn’t have asked for a better debut.
However, he also shared his disappointment at missing the special anniversary screening.
The actor’s co-star Bhumi Pednekar, who made her acting debut with the film, joined the celebration with an emotional Instagram story. Reflecting on the journey, Bhumi wrote about the overwhelming experience of seeing herself on the big screen for the first time a decade ago.
Watching the film again at the anniversary screening brought back those memories, filling her heart with gratitude.
“10 years ago, I watched ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ for the first time, full of nerves and emotion, not believing I was really in a film,” she shared. “A decade later, watching it again with people who love the film felt like living that dream all over again.”
Ayushmann also reposted a tribute video shared by Yash Raj Films, the movie’s production house. The video celebrated the film’s lasting impact, showing the story of Prem and Sandhya’s unconventional love story that won hearts across the country.

Directed by Sharat Katariya, ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ was released on February 27, 2015. The film told the story of Prem Prakash Tiwari, played by Ayushmann, a young man reluctant to marry Sandhya, a confident woman chosen by his parents.
What followed was an unconventional love story that touched hearts with its honesty and simplicity. The film also featured standout performances by Sanjay Mishra and Seema Pahwa.
