Actor Anushka Shetty got widely popular after her powerful performance in Baahubali 2. Her act definitely made her stand out in the sequel of Baahubali. She has been in news for her chemistry with the co-star of the same film. Rumours suggest they might tie the knot soon. However, the actress has denied the whole story.

Recently, in her interview with a leading daily, she opened up about her take on gender pay disparity. Women in the industry have been vocal about the discrimination lately. Whether it be Bollywood or Hollywood, actresses have been loud and clear about their perception. While the actresses are against such pay gap, Anushka has a different take on it.

Talking about the recent concern in the film industry, she said, “Male actors deserve better pay because a lot of films ride on their shoulders and that they have a lot to lose when the films don’t work at box office.”

She reportedly suggested her contemporaries to ask for better roles, prove their mettle at the box office and earns the deserved pay instead of fighting for the same pay as male actors.

On the work front, Anushka Shetty is promoting her upcoming horror film Bhaagamathie. It would release in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages on 26 January.
