Andhadhun wins big at 10th edition of IFFM 2019, Melbourne

The 10th edition of Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is currently underway. The festival which began on 8 August and will go on until the 17 August has seen the likes of several megastars from Bollywood attend the cultural extravaganza. Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor, Zoya Akhtar and Sriram Raghavan among others are attending the IFFM 2019 in Victoria, Melbourne.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the winners in major categories on social media.

Shah Rukh Khan won the Excellence in Cinema Award, while Gully Boy won the Best Film award.

While the nominations for Best Actor included Amitabh Bachchan( Badla), Ayushmann Khurrana(Andhadhun), Manoj Bajpayee(Bhonsle), Namdev Gaurav( Namdev Bhau-In Search of Silence), Ranver Singh(Gully Boy) and Vicky Kaushal for Uri: The Surgical Strike, the award was won by Vijay Sethupathi for Super Deluxe.

Best Actor: Vijay Sethupathi for Super Deluxe

Best Actress: Tabu for Andhdhun

Best Director: Sriram Raghavan for Andhadhun

People’s Choice Award for Best Film: Simmba

Best Indie Film: Bulbul Can Sing( Assamese)

Best Short Film: My Name is Mohamed and Raghad: We Dont Exist Here Anymore

Equality in Cinema Award: Chuskit and Super Deluxe

Diversity Award: Onir

The festival is also celebrating 20 years of the iconic cult favourite, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
