Ananya Panday, who has just made her debut with Student of the Year 2 (SOTY2) that released in theatres on Friday, has become the talk of the town. Her debut performance is receiving praises from all — critics and audiences alike.
For a debutante in the film industry, SOTY 2 opening day business has done very well for the actor. The film collected a whopping Rs 12.06 crore on the first day itself.
Ananya plays Shreya, who is ambitious and headstrong. Panday’s performance was much awaited after the entry she made in the film’s trailer in a leather jacket from a open car. Similar to Varun Dhawan’s entry and character portrayal in Student of the Year, her character and promising performance along with fellow-actor Tara Sutaria is being much appreciated.
In an interview to IBNS-TWF, Panday had said the film was set in a larger-than-life reality; a not so real school but one had to “take the magic which comes from it”, in order to enjoy it.
On being asked how tough it was to match Tiger Shroff’s dancing skills, she added, “Firstly, it is impossible to match Tiger’s level. He rehearses a lot despite being such a good dancer. After watching him rehearsing on sets, I was like “what are we doing!” because he is so perfect. ”
The actor is the youngest celebrity endorser of Lakme India. She will be next seen opposite Kartik Aaryan and with Bhumi Pednekar in the remake of the 1978 film, Pati Patni Aur Woh.
SOTY2 starring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria released on 10 May 2019.
