It is a known fact in Bollywood that actors with commendable performances in films receive a special token of appreciation from veteran megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

After the National Film Awards were announced on Friday at a press conference by the jury’s chairperson Rahul Rawail, massive uproar erupted across the nation.

While some congratulated their favourite stars for their big win, others championed the cause of those who did not win.

On the Best Actor front, Ayushmann Khurrana for Andhadhun and Vicky Kaushal for Uri: The Surgical Strike won awards.

While the two actors congratulated each other for the tie-win, they were also lauded by the film industry for their win.

On a more recent note, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan sent two personalised hand-written notes along with a bouquet of flowers to the National Film Award winners.

The couple wished both the actors on their big win adding that there were “many more to follow.”

Vicky Kaushal expressed his happiness over the gesture on an Instagram story where he wrote, “This means the world to me! Thank you Bachchan sir and Jaya ma’am.”

The 31-year old was also congratulated by the Punjabi singer-songwriter Gurdaas Maan and his wife Manjeet Maan for being conferred the award.

On the other hand, Ayushmann put out a heartfelt message on his official Twitter handle that said the receiving praise from “the country’s greatest actor is nothing less than a National Award in itself.”
