Veteran actor Alok Nath has sent a defamation notice to writer-producer Vinta Nanda, who accused him of rape, and lodged a criminal complaint against her in a Mumbai court.
On Monday, Nanda had accused Nath of raping her almost two decades ago. Responding to the allegation, Alok Nath had said the next day he was neither “denying this” nor woulf “agree with it”.

According to the latest developments, a defamation notice has been sent to Vinta Nanda, and a criminal complaint has been filed against her in the Andheri court. Also, Alok Nath’s wife Ashu Singh has filed an application in Mumbai’s Andheri court seeking directions to the Amboli police to taking cognisance of the complaint.
Following the allegations made by Vinta Nanda, the Cine And TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) has sent a notice to Nath, demanding to know why he should not be debarred after the harassment allegations.

In her post, Nanda had revealed that she was intoxicated when the horrific incident took place. When asked about his views on the statement, the Vivah actor replied, “Firstly, let’s not blame the alcohol. Secondly, it’s her perspective.”
Recently, Himani Shivpuri who has worked with Alok Nath revealed that the industry had been aware of the actor’s alcohol-fuelled split personality.
