Ever since the trailer of Anupam Kher starrer The Accidental Prime Minister has been released, it has been entangled into controversies. The film has landed itself into a political debate as Anupam Kher plays the part of Dr. Manmohan Singh, the former Prime Minister of India.
After the trailer was launched, several political parties raised uncomfortable issues and even questioned the timing of the trailer and the film. The trailer of the film was trending on YouTube post the launch. However, shocking news has come up; the trailer was nowhere to be found just after its launch on YouTube.

Fans shared the concern over the same with lead actor Anupam Kher and on Tuesday the actor shared the same on his Twitter handle. He wrote, “Dear @YouTube!!! I am getting messages & calls that in parts of our country if you type, the trailer of #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister, it is either not appearing or at 50th position. We were trending at No.1 yday. Please help. #HappyNewYear”

When users search for The Accidental Prime Minister trailer on YouTube, they end up getting links to Anupam’s interviews regarding the film.

After the launch, Congress leaders even asked the producers of the film The Accidental Prime Minister for a special screening of the same. However, Anupam Kher strongly reacted to these requests and said that only if Dr Manmohan Singh asks for a screening, he will get it done.
The film also stars Akshaye Khanna who plays the role of media advisor-cum-book writer Sanjaya Baru. The film is slated to release on January 11, 2019.
