“Sarkar se alag ho jana chahiye tha. Itni taqleef hai Pragya Thakur se to istifa de ke alag ho jana chahiye unko (He [Nitish Kumar] should have left the government. If he is really so badly hurt by Pragya Thakur’s comment then he should resign and walk out of the government),” said Rabri.

Kumar’s party is contesting the Lok Sabha elections 2019 in alliance with the BJP in Bihar.

Pragya Singh Thakur had, on Thursday, had said, “Nathuram Godse was a deshbhakt (patriot), is a deshbhakt (patriot) and will remain a deshbhakt (patriot). People calling him a terrorist should instead look within, such people will be given a befitting reply in these elections.”

Pragya was replying to a query on Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief and actor Kamal Haasan’s remark that the “first terrorist in independent India was a Hindu”, referring to Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse.
