Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera, while addressing a press conference on Tuesday, said that the Election commission should take action against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Arun Jaitley under Section 125 of Representation of People Act for providing false information in their poll affidavits.

The “false information” pertains to the details and facts about the property allotted to the PM in 2002 when he was sworn in as the chief minister of Gujarat. He also added to the moniker “chowkidaar” making it “chowkidaar ya zamindaar”.

Khera said that there are discrepancies in the documents that the two have submitted as both have claimed in different election affidavits to own plot no 411 and 1/4th area of plot no 401A in Gandhinagar whereas land revenue records show that there’s a plot 401, but not plot 401A. The sole owner of that plot is Jaitley while Modi is the sole owner of plot no 411.

Also, in 2014, when Jaitley listed himself as the 1/4th owner of 401A, he said it was allotted to him by the Gandhinagar mamlatdar. But in 2012 in a court case, Meenakshi Lekhi, as the Gujarat state counsel, said no land was allotted to MPs/MLAs since 2000.

There was no reaction from the BJP till the time of filing of the story.
