Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jai Ram Thakur on Sunday said the Congress party was bearing the brunt of dynastic politics and the burden of one family is weighing the party down in each electoral battle.
Addressing the party workers, Thakur said the people of the country were now tired of dynastic politics and they would reject caste and dynasty based political parties in the Lok Sabha elections.
Congress party was reduced to 44 seats in 2014 Lok Sabha polls owing to people’s resentment against dynastic politics and the party would meet the same fate in 2019 Lok Sabha elections too, he added.
Thakur said the party had been cut-off from the common man since the last many years which was the reason that they weren’t able to understand the aspirations and emotions of the people of the country.
BJP, on the other hand, had given Prime Ministers like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi who had taken the country forward on the development path.
“This can happen only in those political parties that give preference to merit and the same cannot be expected from political parties that rely on a family,” he said.
He lashed at the “double standards” of Congress and said that on the one hand, the party insults our armed forces and then urges nationalist persons to vote for them which was not possible.
It was the BJP which had given respect to the armed forces and implemented “One Rank, One Pension” scheme.
He lauded the five years rule of BJP government at the Centre and said what Congress couldn’t do in 55 years, PM Modi had accomplished for the country in 5 years. “It is for these reasons that people are supporting BJP and Modi in Lok Sabha polls and the party would again secure the majority to form government at Centre,” he added.
