A young businessman was killed allegedly by his neighbour over a land dispute at Magrahat in South 24 Parganas last night. The man was missing since Friday night.
Tension arose in the area when his dead body was recovered on Saturday morning. Police have initiated a case.
Johurul Ghorami (25) had gone to purchase goods for his business at the wholesale market in Kolkata with Rs 10,000 in cash along with his friend on Friday morning. He told his family members that he will come back by afternoon but did not return home on Friday night.
Early this morning the local people found his dead body in a lonely place beside the road at Bankipur within Magrahat police limits area where they were staying for some days.
His family was informed and the body was identified as Johurul. Police recovered the dead body and have sent it for post-mortem.
Serina Bibi, the mother of the deceased, alleged that a dispute had been continuing over a piece of land in her family. So she and her family had to flee from their village at Bilandapur of Magrahat for those
influential neighbours and were staying at the house of their relatives at Bankipur village.
The bereaved family of the deceased alleged they were being threatened to kill for some days and it was informed to the police.
Police said a probe has been initiated on the basis of the complaint. No one has been arrested so far.
