Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said the work on establishing Central University campus at Dehra in Kangra district would be started with in next two months so that this mega project could take off at the earliest possible.
Thakur informed about the decision after a meeting with a delegation led by MLA Hoshiyar Singh, who was requesting for starting work on this project as early as possible.
Thakur said that this project had suffered a lot due to the negative politics of the previous government in the state. He said that the Central University would immensely benefit the people of the area.
“This would not only provide quality higher education to the students of the state in general and students of the region in the particular but would also a big boost to the economic activities in the region,” he said.
He said that he had detailed discussion on this issue with Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar.
