Overwhelmed by the support for Jan Ashirwad Yatra in Himachal Pradesh, Union information and broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday said he will brief Prime Minister Narendra Modi as to how much the people of state love him when he returns to Delhi.
Talking to media in Dharamshala on 4th day of the yatra, Thakur said as the yatra was progressing in the state, its nature had changed drastically as people had turned out in huge numbers despite the rains.
“Youth and even small children have come out to welcome him despite heavy rains in the state which shows the popularity of the Modi government in the state,” he added.
He termed Dharamshala as his second home as he used to stay and work here before coming into politics and stated that it was not only ‘Veer Bhoomi’ but also ‘Khel Bhoomi’.
“We will convert Himachal into ‘Khel Bhoomi’ from ‘Dev Bhoomi’ and will construct sports stadiums across the state.
Himachal is now witnessing a ‘double engine’ of development as PM Modi and BJP chief JP Nadda are focusing on expanding health services,” he said, adding he will strive to make the state number one in the field of development.
He also vowed to provide employment opportunities and promote tourism in the state and said after the Dharamshala cricket was constructed, it had provided much needed impetus to the tourism sector in Kangra.
He further stated that he will make efforts to promote HP’s culture at international level as there were unlimited possibilities in the arts and culture sector for which we will work as a team.
He added that PM Modi wanted to introduce his new cabinet in the parliament but the opposition didn’t let it happen as they were working with ulterior motives to ensure a whitewash of the monsoon session.
“PM’s Modi’s cabinet was the youngest cabinet in the history of the country and all sections of society including women and youth have been given adequate representation in the Union government,” he added.
