VB registers case against ex-chairman of Punjab Agro

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Sunday registered a case against senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Dyal Singh Kolianwali for amassing huge wealth than the disclosed sources of his income by misusing his official position.

Kolianwali is the former member of Punjab Subordinate Service Selection Board (PSSSB) and former chairman Punjab Agro Industries.

Disclosing this an official spokesperson of the VB said during the investigation, the VB team have chosen a specific check period from the year 2009 to 2014 during which the accused was holding a responsible posting and found that he had got total income of Rs 2.39 Crore.

During the check period, accused had spent Rs  4.10 Crore on various moveable and immoveable properties including other expenditures which was more than around 71 percent of his actual earning, the VB spokesperson added.

During the investigation, it has also been found that the accused had to misuse his official position as the employees got transferred or deployed with the collusion of government officials and collected money with the help of the illegal elements.
