Various govt programmes to be launched in 164 blocks in 30 dists

Under the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, various programmes on skill development, livelihood and entrepreneurship for youths will be launched at 164 blocks in 30 districts of Odisha on 5 May 2018 informed Mr. Jaykant Singh, Senior Head, State Engagement, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday,Mr. Singh said, distinct programmes will be launched at 164 blocks of the state along with a state level programme will be organised at Habeli ground in Khurda district.

Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan will be at the launch while and Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram is slated to join various programmes at different blocks under Sundergarh district.

A large number of youth will attend the programme to get employment opportunity as well as joining the country through skill development and livelihood under Gram Swaraj Yojana, informed Mr Singh.

Efforts will be given to connect youths with various traditional and modern market relevant job skills to cater effective employment opportunity through the courses on skill development programme.

Steps will be taken to modernise the ITIs along with introducing modern syllabus as well as skill certificates will be distributed to the traditional skilled persons who have no certificates till now. Bikram Kumar Das and Yash Bajaj from NSDC were also present at the press meet.
