In a surprise move, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s wife Sunita Rawat lodged a police complaint in Dehradun on Friday against an expelled BJP leader for spreading rumours and attempting to damage her image.
Sunita Rawat is a government school teacher and Subhash Sharma, an expelled BJP leader, alleged that the academic certificates of the CM’s wife are bogus.
Sharma hosted a press conference in Dehradun this week to share information obtained thought Right To Information from Uttarakhand education department.
Accusing Sunita Rawat of using certificates from bogus institutes, the ex-BJP leader said the state education department is reluctant in providing information under RTI by claiming that personal information can’t be shared.
Sunita Rawat reached Dalanwalla Police Station in Dehradun on Friday. The police have registered the compliant under Sections 504 and 569 of the IPC and Section 66 of the IT act. Subhash Sharma is considered to be close to ex-Uttarakhand CM Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. Sharma was removed from the BJP after the 2017 state assembly elections.
After CM Trivendra Rawat created controversy by losing his temper at a woman government teacher in a public function, many of Rawat’s rivals became active.
After the Uttara Pant Bahuguna controversy, Subhash Sharma hosted his first press conference in which he raised questions about wives of BJP leaders working in education department never getting posted out of Dehradun.
Nobody said anything at that time as the case was genuine and political leaders, despite chanting zero tolerance, used influence to keep their family members in and around Dehradun.
But the second conference was targetted at Sunita Rawat. Subhash Sharma used harsh words to accuse the CM’s wife of using fake certificates for getting the government job. The controversy has now taken a new turn with Sunita lodging a police complaint.
