Twenty-five persons were injured when a Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus rammed into a truck at Pandoga about 11. 3 kms from Una.
According to a police official, the accident occurred near Pandoga in Himachal Pradesh, when the bus on its way to Ghumarwin from Amritsar rammed into a standing canter truck at the Excise Barrier Pandoga.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital and the two seriously injured have been shifted to PGI, Chandigarh, he said.
He disclosed that according to the passengers of the bus and the eye witnesses the driver of the bus was speaking on his mobile phone and was driving at high speed.
The speeding bus hit the truck from behind, when the truck driver had stopped his truck coming from Hoshiarpur side to pay the toll tax at the barrier, said he.
The driver of the HRTC bus has been arrested by the police for negligent driving, he added.
